Henna Brows | $35 | 45 minutes |without mapping

Henna brows are similar to a traditional brow tint, but not only does it tint the hair, it also stains the skin below. Henna penetrates the hair follicle differently; making the tint last longer than a regular brow tint. The results of henna brows typically last between 2-4 weeks, depending on your skin type. Henna brows may last longer on a dry complexion than they would on someone with an oily complexion.

It was an instant love – it almost felt like magic. I’ve been doing hair professionally for over 14 years and still to this day I get the same amazing feeling every single work day. I’ve been very fortunate to have met the most amazing people who continue to bring joy into my life. My inspiration comes from all of my beautiful clients who visit Uptown. I enjoy building relationships and helping clients bring forth their beauty with a total look!”

Jenny Duck is amazing at working with all hair types and colors, She is specially trained in working with Cezanne (keratin treatments), hair relaxers, Deva Curl, and really has an eye for the perfect blonde. Jenny Zinck was born and raised in the North End of Halifax and is the proud owner of Uptown Salon and Spa. She has over 20 years of experience in esthetics. She has a high level of training in specialized clinical skin care, and has been practicing for the past 16 years. Jenny is also trained in a variety of product lines and is Uptown’s in-house trainer.

Jenny loves providing waxing, brow laminations, dermaplaning, peels, lash extensions, and any other esthetic service that helps her clients feel beautiful. Jenny loves what she does and she loves sharing in her clients lives just as much. She loves making everyone who enters the salon feel amazing and educating them on how to feel their most beautiful every day. Heather graduated from ICT Northumberland College in 2000 and has been practicing therapeutic massage ever since. She has also successfully completed her board exams in Ontario. She is currently an active member of Massage Therapists Association of Nova Scotia (MTANS) serving as Co-Chair of the Personal Development Committee.

Heather will customize a treatment plan specifically for each client by covering a thorough health history, interview, and assessment. Treatments use an integration of Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, Sports Massage, Myofascial Release, Trigger Point Therapy and Relaxation Massages. Treating those recovering from motor vehicle accidents, work, stress-related injuries. Sprains, strains from our daily lives, as well as sports injuries.

With over 16 years of experience under her belt, Liana’s masterful knowledge keeps her in high demand, as does her ability to create stunning colors and cuts that not only reflect current trends, but also are easy to manage on a daily basis.

Liana loves that her career gives her the opportunity to use her creativity to make people feel beautiful and confident, while building a lasting relationship with her clients. She has worked in the entertainment industry as “Stylist to the Stars” for people such as; band members of The Sheepdogs, and Sloane, along with TV host Dini Petty. Aurora has honed in on her skills, mastering haircutting & coloring as a seasoned Master Stylist and is looking to build her clientele here in Halifax!

Meet Paula

As a Registered Counsellor, Naturotherapist and Certified Hypnosis Therapist, Paula has over 26 years of training and experience in wellness. She is often asked to draw upon Reiki, Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT-Tapping) as well as Reflexology. She is presently finishing up her training to become an Eden Energy Medicine practitioner. Together,clients decide which approach is best for the presenting circumstances. Paula feels it important for clients to have a space where their natural innate healing abilities are validated, respected and encouraged.
